The Inner Path: Embodiment Practice and Teaching from the Heart
(12-hour Teachers' Intensive - CEU)
Most of us come onto the path of yoga seeking answers. It might well be a quest for a healthier and peaceful lifestyle, but the nature of the practice will naturally draw us into wonderment, and begin to draw a parallel of our practice on the mat into our experience of life off the mat. Hence, the practice of yoga becomes a tool beyond just the improvement of our flexibility and our physical health... we start to explore our inner psyche on the physiological, emotional and even psychological level - on what are our trappings and pitfalls. This self inquiry will probably further evolve into an attempt into comprehending the nature of reality and our existence.
Yoga philosophies, from the ancient Vedas to contemporary study, try to explain the phenomenon of awakening our innate wisdom, giving insight into the meaning of life and consciousness, happiness and suffering, illusion and reality...
There are no short cuts to having insights.
This intensive will help set a foundation to listen our heart and find our own voice in weaving philosophy into our daily practice and yoga classes, by drawing our personal direct experience into our classes through awareness, self inquiry and physical practice in a fun, practical and non-secular way.
This 12-hour program will include a dynamic mix of yoga practice, lecture, discussion, and application of ideas related to our daily life, personal practice, and teaching yoga. The program is ideal for teachers who want to understand more about how to weave philosophical teachings into their asana classes in a skillful way, as well as yoga practitioners who have a basic level of understanding in yoga philosophy, and have been delving into different aspects of Hatha Yoga (Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Kriyas) for at least a year.
Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Units (CEU) applies for existing teachers.
